Gabelli’s Tight Grip on Gamco May Hurt Funds, Staff Retention
Gamco Investors has made some significant changes to the company structure in the past year or so – leading some analysts to question how well the firm is preparing for its future. Five Gabelli funds were among the industry’s most expensive and worst-performing mutual funds during the 10-year period ended December 2021 according to a September Ignites analysis. However, the Gabelli funds’ subpar performance doesn’t have to do with fees, said Neil Bathon, founder and managing partner at FUSE Research Network.
